Though some have argued that the dance craze is getting old, others maintain they have the potion to put the life right back into it.
Azonto, the dance style that has gotten everyone dancing; Presidents, Wall street business gurus, rappers, basketball players, footballers and so many.
Just when everyone was wondering where azonto was going next, hiplife artistes D2 show up and promise that they are ready to take the dance style to a whole new level at the festive season’s biggest party “Decemba to Rememba”.
According to the group made up of Duke Thompson and George Ocansey, they will steal the show with their energetic performance and creative dance moves.
“We are revved up for a fantastic performance. Come and learn the latest azonto,” they stated.
The members of the group were former group members of local Ghanaian popular music group DADABEES, which had tremendous success between the years of 2004 and 2009 until they split ways.
Duke and George decided to merge and start their journey as the “dynamic duo”.
Since their separation with the DADABEES, they’ve worked tirelessly on making music and producing a string of hit tracks that landed them a record deal with Canadian base label Hype Records.
With a move to a new management and label home, D2 was able to shoot their first international music video for their first single “Shake Ur Body”.
Other hit songs of these artistes are ‘Ewo’ and their newest and hottest single ‘Friday Azonto’.
The group will be performing live at the Accra International Conference Centre on December 24, 2012 on the same stage as other artistes like, D-Black, Keche, Asem, E.L., Kaakie, R2bees, Lousika, Al’ova, Dr. Slim And Dobble, Keita, Sister Deborah, Bisa Kdei, D2, Akatakyie, Criss Waddle, Cwesi Oteng, among others.
